HISTORY OF THE DEPARTMENT»


The Department of Physics was started in the year 1967 offering Under-Graduate Programmein physics.  Became a P.G. Department in the year 1982.  The Department has projects in Electronics, Nano Ceramics, Spectroscopy and Non-linear Dynamics.

 
COURSES OFFERED»
Under graduate program in physics
The Department offers three years B.Sc. Programme with  Physics as the major subject and Mathematics and Chemistry as subsidiary subjects.

Post-graduate programme in physics

M.Sc. Physics programme is offered with Electronics as special paper. Besides the lecture and laboratory components, the programme includes student research projects.

Current Research in the Department

The faculty are actively involved in research in the following areas:
Nonlinear Dynamics
Vibrational Spectroscopy
Material Science
Nano-Ceramics
